New Era University recognizes the use of information highway as equally effective media and very powerful tool in providing people with information and learning relevant to the acquisition of knowledge.

As the means of people’s way of living continue to improve, the medium of information dissemination keeps itself abreast and dynamically upfront with it. The enormous role played by the electronic media and the internet in propagation of knowledge can cater more and more self-propelling individuals, people who are eager to learn on their own, and those who believe non-traditional learning is practical and expedient.

And so, as technology surges forward, NEU through its Vantage Education Management (the University Center for Alternative Learning) will make use of the current technology to intensify its effort of delivering quality education. NEU envisions reaching larger community of learners through live internet video-conferencing, and electronic learning modules of instructions. It commits itself to viable education management.

Yet, with all these changes and development in the society, NEU maintains one imperishable good we are determined to deliver: Christian-Inspired Education.

NEU-VEM DEPARTMENTS

NEU Open University (NEU-OU)

NEU-OU is the Distance Education (DE) program of the New Era University. NEU-OU uses the current technology to intensify the University’s effort of delivering quality education worldwide. It envisions reaching larger community of learners through scheduled face-to-face activities via its Learning Centers (LCs), live internet video-conferencing, and use of electronic learning modules of instructions. It commits itself to viable education management through Open University or Distance Learning. Since NEU-OU employs online communication, it will also referred to as Online University. Its flagship is “Providing Online Christian-Inspired Quality Education.”

Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP)

Pursuant to Executive Order 330 of 1996, ETEEAP is an educational assessment scheme which recognizes knowledge, skills, and prior learning obtained by individuals from non-formal and informal education experiences. It employs equivalency competence standards and a comprehensive assessment system involving written tests, interviews, skills demonstrations, and other creative assessment methodologies. A Panel of assessors is constituted to determine the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and attitudes relevant to a particular discipline, and consequently equivalent credits and appropriate degrees are conferred by NEU.

NEU Homeschooling Intervention Programs (NEU-HIP)

The NEU-HIP in the Basic Education (with Level III Accreditation Status) is a response of the University to the following legal bases: "The right of every Filipino to quality basic education as emphasized in Republic Act 9155 or the Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001; The guarantee of the 1987 Constitution to the right to education of every Filipino, that "the State shall protect and promote the right of all citizens to quality education at all levels and shall take appropriate steps to make education accessible to all"; Education-for-All 2015 --"The country will establish and maintain a system of... education... without limiting the natural right of parents to rear their children…”; and the Department of Education (DepeEd) Manual of Regulations for Private Schools -- “The State shall encourage non-formal, informal, and indigenous learning systems as well as self-learning, independent, and out-of school study programs…”
